Obama and the Nobel

Looks like stars have aligned perfectly well for Obama in recent times- from the day he became a front runner in the democratic primaries till date when he is bestowed a Nobel peace prize. Is it his mother showering all her blessings on her beloved son from heaven? His grandma? Does he have a special connection with the almighty? I wonder.

Really glad are comedians who were struggling to make a skit out of Obama. They have their plate full now.The Nobel peace prize has become a joke for many. While he is criticized from all sides for accepting the Prize he never sought, I can't help but wish that the stars will continue to align well for him( and for the rest of us as well) as he goes through the health care reform, tries to steer back his country from the economic meltdown, and bringing peace to many places in the world burning with hatred.

That would be so much good in coming years we can hope for! The only one thing he seems to be doing right now is just that- giving plenty of hopes to every one. I definitely think it is too early to award him a Nobel peace prize, He hasn't done any thing quite yet. When I think of Gandhi being rejected the Nobel prize on the ground that he is “ a nationalist”, “ a saint in the form of a politician” and what other excuses they could come up with, I really doubt the credibility of such an award. Who else deserves a peace prize than the proponent of nonviolence? Gandhi has inspired many people who won the prize- Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Dalilama..and finally Obama. Probably, Gandhi is bigger than the prize itself, he who possessed minimal would not have cared a bit about the award.
